JaF Sierra Sunrise
#0169065
foaled July 5, 2005, by Caduceus Moses  #126871,  and out of Funquest Mountain Ms  #090061

I bought Sierra’s dam, Funquest Mountain Ms, when she was in foal to Caduceus Moses and I feel blessed to have both Ms and Sierra in my life. The two of them are so happy and quiet and fun to be around.    Sierra has absolutely the most beautiful head and soft, soulful eyes – you can’t miss her out in the pasture even when she is surrounded by other horses. Sierra’s sire is gaited, and so is her dam. So far Sierra shows every indication of being gaited as well, and as her training progresses we’ll explore this further. However I don’t want to go on record as stating that she is, since I am not knowledgeable in that area yet. Stay posted for updates, though!

JaF Sequoia Fortune
#168836
foaled May 31, 2005, by CanDon Joshua Danny,  and out of RiverOak Bay Laurel  #0133592

Fortune earned his name as a result of his very fortuitous timing of entry into this world. I was out of town when his dam, Bailey, went into labor just after noon.  As it happens, Brent was cleaning corrals at that particular time, which is unusual in itself as he is usually done with that chore by mid-morning – plus, as we all know most mares prefer to foal in the dark.

Well, Brent noticed Bailey was in distress and unable to push the colt out beyond his nose and one foreleg.    Brent pulled on an OB glove, pushed the foal back into the birth canal and fished out the second leg which had been locked at Bailey’s pelvic bone.  Once both of the colt’s shoulders were free, Bailey was able to quickly complete the birth process and the foal was saved.

Fortune will be joining my summer pack string within the month.  He has been ridden more than Pooh has but not yet packed – and I consider packing training a big part of my colts’ desensitization.

JaF Diamonds of Sequoia
#0168835
foaled May 13, 2005, by Eclpyse Sundance Kid  #143277, and out of Lee’s Mar-Star  #0117742

This was the last foal we bred by Buddy before he was gelded and sold to a truly loving home, where he is in the process of being trained as a California style Vaquero Bridle Horse. In an interesting coincidence, Two-Dee’s full sister, JaF Goldfire Michaela, was recently purchased by my working student, Casey, who not only started Michaela but is now also doing much of Two-Dee’s training. The two sisters are both quite tall and muscular, very athletic, and beautiful movers.

Two-Dee was given her nickname as a result of the two separate white diamonds that are on her forehead.  She has a happy, outgoing personality and is a big “people horse”.

JaF Kaweah Gold
#169064
foaled April 21, 2005, by Can Don Joshua Danny  #155980,  and out of Red Range Chamisa  #0111552

Affectionately known as Pooh Bear,  this tall palomino gelding will not reach his full height and substance for another couple of years.  His mind is so ready now though, that he has already gone on one pack trip for the USFS (after maybe 30 rides, and 6 days of packing preparation).  Like his brothers and sisters foaled this same year, his training will not be completed until probably fall – but he already rides and packs like a summer-long veteran. Truly an amazing colt, he is a joy to be around and gets along with every horse and mule he has ever come into contact with.

I will continue to pack this colt, plus I am riding him on trail and also fine tuning his gymnastic skills in the arena.

JaF Sierra Socialite
#0168833
foaled April 18, 2005, by Can Don Joshua Danny  #155980, and out of Hideaway Starlight Moon,  #0137226

A beautiful and showy clear bay, Socialite has her dam’s spectacular self carriage and natural balance, and her sire’s amazingly laid-back personality. As of this writing, Socialite has just a few rides under her belt and she is learning at an exceptionally rapid rate.   Like her half brothers Inde and Patriot, Socialite loves to go to work every day, loves people, and truly likes to get out and go. Already well on her way to being a great riding mount, Socialite shows a lot of potential to be a spectacular and eye-catching driving horse.

Chalk Mt Sunny Mac
#147434
foaled July 13, 1998, by the late Primavera Valdez  #74144, and out of Chalk Mt Flambé  #0101874

SunnyMac is a stunning, iridescent dark bronze buckskin.  I used him as a breeding stallion but have now gelded him so that he can be ridden consistently and enjoy a more well-rounded life than that of the typical stallion. He will be used on my pack string this summer as part of his ongoing education.

RanchBoss Foxy Roxie
#0154538
foaled March 2, 2001 by Twilight Golden Dream, #135867
out of Ranchboss Black Star, #0140957

Roxie has led a rather varied life so far.   As a three-year-old she appeared in the Morgan Breed Demo at the Sacramento Horse Expo, dressed and loaded up as my pack horse.  She spent two years on a working cattle ranch in Central Oregon.  And I rode her in the mountains all last winter, until she got so big my cinch no longer spanned her belly. On April 16 she foaled a spectacular palomino colt by the gorgeous grulla stallion, Amberfield’s Stars N Stripes, and has proven to be as good at motherhood as she is as a riding horse.

I will be tuning Roxie up and ponying her colt around this summer, and Roxie will be for sale as soon as her colt is weaned.

$9,000

Treasure Donna
#0163738
foaled May 14, 2003 by Treasure Paladin #126603
out of Crystalbrook Guine #0101712

This mare was started under saddle in March of 2007. Donna is 15 hh already, and still growing. She has spectacular, elegant movement that garnered her a lot of attention in the Bryan Neubert clinic where she was started. We have not completely decided whether to keep her and breed her, or sell her. On the one hand, she is everything we want to propagate - great mind, excellent, athletic conformation, wonderful bone and feet. On the other hand, our business is selling horses. In the meantime we are offering these photos and information in case there is someone out there who wants a horse such as she is. Donna, like all our colts, will not be available for purchase until her training is completed and she is absolutely solid - sometime this summer.
