Welcome to JaF Morgan Stock Horses, where we have a passion not just for the Morgan Horse, but for Vaquero style Bridle Horse training, as well. In fact, our prefix, JaF, stands for
Jaquima a Freno (Ha-kee-ma ah Fray-no) - or Hackamore to Bridle, in Spanish.
Morgans have a long history of being Bridle Horses. They have the conformation, the mentality, and the physical aptitude to do the job - this being recognized decades, upon decades ago. It is an honor to have the opportunity to bring these characteristics to the forefront of the public eye once again.
While clearly our colts will not generally be bridled upon sale (this is, after all, about a 5-year process from first ride to being straight up in the bridle), the fact remains that we strive to breed horses that are capable of becoming Bridle Horses. This requires physical, mental, and emotional capabilities not often required of colts.
But we are particular.
We have two stallions standing at stud, and average about 30 head of stock here at any given time. Our stallions and all but one of our broodmares are of Western Working bloodlines.
Our stallions each go back to Tio Lalo, via Californio, Shatona Karzan , and Primavera Valdez.
Words cannot begin to convey the gratitude and unequaled admiration for the people who bred these fine horses. Unquestionably, these are wonderful, proven bloodlines with incredible history, beauty, and athletic ability. |
